Students for Mitch Daniels Go Up on the Air for My Man Mitch

By now you may have heard that there is a Students for Mitch Daniels group that is trying to draft Governor Mitch Daniels into the 2012 Presidential Campaign.  They no doubt have gotten the idea from the 2003 efforts to draft Daniels into the running for Indiana Governor.  That group is otherwise known as Frugal Hoosiers and they were successful.

These kids are aggressive and actually put a television ad up in Iowa.  The ad was aired on a Fox affiliate in the Des Moines media market during the Pro-Bowl game.  Here is the ad:

The students have said they plan to air the ad in New Hampshire and Indiana.  Here is a tip, guys:  Don’t waste your money in Indiana.  We’re pretty sure Republican primary voters here are all locked up.  He was Our Man Mitch long before anyone else knew his name.

Its nice to see the party getting the young folks involved in Iowa. Here in Mairon county you are doing your best to drive Republicans away from the party.Kind of ironic, when you think about it.

  2. We think it is great the kids are involved though it has nothing to do with the Party and Iowa. It is Mitch Daniels and kids on the Yale campus taking an interest.

As for Marion County, we are not doing anything with the Party but we’d ask if you have been to a Republican Party event. A lot of the people we know in the Republican Party are young.

    • Wurstnitemare says:

Yes, go to a lot of functions, including fund raisers. While I agree that the youth did a great job here, I dont see them at the functions. Its mostly, Pasty white guys in Brooks brothers suits.

Todays announcement that the water bill increase wil hit soon is a perfect example of why the young are not hanging around. You promised that we would stay with in our budget, now we get a 26% increase. The 25th floor lied and while we are diging out of this ice storm, yoru boss is going to the Super Bowl, thats what the youth does not like. Accountability does not hold for the 25th floor.

Oh, on the other side,Peterson lied to us also, so it’s a two way street. Politics as usual. I really thought that after Oboma, that the youth would get involved on both sides. But,they are leaving the party like rats on a sinking ship.

Go to the Lincoln Dinners and see how many young folks are there. There is no energy with in the MCRCC now, but then there has not been for at least five years. I hope that Kyle Walker can turn this around, however, from what I can see, it’s just more of the same.. Brooks in Center Township, very funny is the perfecxt example. Heaven forbid that you put a young black person in charge of Center.Oh wait, Heaven forbid that you put a young black person in any position with in the MRCRR.

What kind of “student” is the person in this ad? Post-post grad?

That being said, this might work.

“As for Marion County, we are not doing anything with the Party . ”

~and there you have it. I appreciate the honesty at least.

Whoever is the author of this blog, instead of taking pot-shots at those Republican bloggers who have valid complaints , I ask you: What have YOU done to strengthen the party? What have you done in terms of grass-roots voter registration, promoting the party via the recruitment of strong candidates?

Tell us what you have done in these areas. The immature, childish responses to those who actually are trying to make the party better through sunshine does not serve this purpose. Market your efforts, if you have any to be proud of!! and ..sooner, rather than later..because after the primaries are over in May, it’ll be too late, if it isnt already.

  5. Michael, we’ve done a lot actually. What we were saying is that our blog is not associated with the Marion County Republican Party. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out that was what our response was speaking to.
